Adult Program

At Green Light Driving School, we take into account adults have had a varied history with driving. Whether you are proficient or have no experience, we evaluate your individual ability and define an instruction regiment to fit your own personal needs. Regardless of your experience we emphasize safe defensive driving techniques to make you the most aware driver you can be. In our adult program we include:

  • Individual one-on-one Instruction
  • Defensive Driving Techniques
  • Personal Road Evaluations
  • Procedures for Adverse Conditions
  • Procedures for Handling Emergencies
  • Pick-Up and Drop Off Service
  • Highway Instruction

If you already have a valid driver’s license or instruction permit, we can begin scheduling your driving lessons at your convenience. If you do not already have a valid driver’s license or instruction permit, you will need to obtain an instruction permit from the Illinois Secretary of State.

Obtaining your Instruction Permit
When you apply for your instruction permit, you must:

  • Pass the vision screening
  • Pass the written test
  • Pay $20 to the Secretary of State
If you need assistance with the written test, we can review the material with you and provide you with a practice test before you apply for your instruction permit.

You must also provide a minimum of three acceptable forms of identification to prove:
  • Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Illinois Residency
  • Social Security Number
  • Signature for Comparison
One of these forms should be a certified birth certificate.

Scheduling a Lesson
If you are within 30 minutes of Batavia, South Elgin, or Sycamore, we provide a pick up and drop off service. One of our certified instructors will arrive at your home or work for lessons and drop you off when finished. All of our instructors are caring, patient, and professional.
